Songwriting Habits: An expression of who we are.

Writing a song gives us the opportunity to express who we are. It also allows us to share how we feel about things giving an avenue to express worries that we don't know what to do about, and issues that we care for. Writing a song gives us a voice, even if no one is listening. It   allows us to be human, just like everyone else, who struggles with all kinds of life stuff. It also gives us the chance to share our stories and to celebrate who we are as well.

It is a gift that we can share, to help someone else or as a gift that we can give ourselves.

Here is a track by Gurrumul, an Aboriginal artist whose music expresses the human spirit. In this track, a traditional Aboriginal chant is fused with contemporary art music producing an amazing expression of who he was. Listening to the track gives rise to a range of human expressions. Enjoy!
